• Cholinergic blocker—Muscarinic receptor blocker

∫ Parasympatholytic drug ∫ antimuscarinic

2) Mechanism

• Reversible blockage of the actions of ACh at muscarinic receptor

3) Indications

• Premed: decrease salivation, bronchial secretions, prevent reflex bradycardia, hypnotic and narcotic

4) Effects on organs—side effects

• Excessive dosage: tachycardia, restlessness, flushing, absence of sweating, pyrexia

• Synergistic effect hypnotic and narcotic effect with morphine

5) Toxic effects/ precautions with administration

6) Contraindications
