     Cholinergic blocker—Muscarinic receptor blocker

Parasympatholytic drug antimuscarinic

 

2) Mechanism

     Reversible blockage of the actions of ACh at muscarinic receptor

 

3) Indications

     Premed: decrease salivation, bronchial secretions, prevent reflex bradycardia, hypnotic and narcotic

 

 

4) Effects on organs—side effects

     Excessive dosage: tachycardia, restlessness, flushing, absence of sweating, pyrexia

     Synergistic effect hypnotic and narcotic effect with morphine
